Report – DYP Kolhapur RUN A marathon was organised by KSC-ruggedian on 11/02/2024. Around 6000 runners had participated and divided into categories of 5 km, 10 km,21 km and 41 km running groups. Post run physiotherapy was given by the interns and Mpt students of D Y Patil College of Physiotherapy. Dr Akshay Kokitkar and Dr Gloria Naik were the staff incharge of the marathon. Services like cryotherapy and stretching was given to runners who experienced cramps post marathon. The students as well as the marathon runners showed active participation and were enthusiastic and happy to receive the Physiotherapy service. At the end of event our entire team of D Y Patil College of Physiotherapy was felicilated by the organisers with a momentum and showed their interest in working with the team in future as well. Students were grateful towards the Principal Dr. Amrutkuwar Rayjade for giving them the opportunity for the same. also Some of the students and all Faculty members has been participated in 5 KM and 10 KM RUN.

A marathon was organised by Ichalkaranji runner foundation Imfit club on 24/12/2023. Around 500 runners had participated and divided into categories of 5 km, 10 km and 21 km running groups. Post run physiotherapy was given by the interns and Mpt students of D Y Patil College of Physiotherapy. Dr Aditi Jadhav and Dr Sonia Lohana were the staff incharge of the marathon. Services like cryotherapy and stretching was given to runners who experienced cramps post marathon. The students as well as the marathon runners showed active participation and were enthusiastic and happy to receive the Physiotherapy service. At the end of event our entire team of D Y Patil College of Physiotherapy was felicilated by the organisers with a momentum and showed their interest in working with the team in future as well. Report – Minimarathon 29th August’23 To commemorate Indian hockey legend Major Dhyanchand’s birthday student council of Medical college organised a mini marathon on 29.08.2023
All students and staff participated in the event. Physiotherapy services were provided by the college of physiotherapy along with 4 Postgraduates and 3 staff including Dr. Amrutkuvar Rajadyade, Smrutika Shinde and Nayala Diwan.
Panhala Hill Marathon 27th August’23 Deccan Sports Club (DSC) in association with Shantinekitan School organized Hill Marathon for all age groups on Sunday 27th August 2023 at Panhala Fort, Kolhapur. Around 1200 runners ran for the marathon. The event was attended by pacers by Arhata among others to motivate the runners.
The Vice Chancellor Sir, Mr Rakesh Mudhgal also joined the marathon to support. The parents and students of Shantiniketan School came together in large numbers for the marathon.
They were duly encouraged for their participation as the participants were awarded with gift vouchers, T-shirts, Medals, Trophies and participation certificates signed by the organisation.
Dr.D.Y Patil College of Physiotherapy Team was active during the event and providing stretching and aiding in recovery. A total of 12 1st MPT Post-graduate students along with 5 staff including Dr. Amrutkuvar Rajyadaye, Dr. Gloria Naik, Dr. Akshay Koitkar, Dr. Hrishikesh Jashav and Dr. Soniya Lohana were helping in recovery of the participants.
The event was a great success and College of Physiotherapy received a momento for providing services in the event.
